Ria was always talking. Whether she saw you yesterday or years ago, she was always keeping up with her friends and family all around the world. She was always there to listen and help. Now Ria needs your help, but she can't ask, so we are asking for her.
About a month ago, Ria suffered a stroke out of the blue. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent two brain surgeries. Things looked bleak, but Ria is a fighter and she pulled through. She is conscious, breathing on her own, can see, and move the left side of her body. But Ria can't talk. She can't walk. And she can't move the right side of her body. She is now fully dependent on others for her care and needs ongoing medical support. She needs to relearn all of these skills, and to do that, she needs admission to a rehabilitation center.
The skilled and dedicated surgeons at the hospital saved her life, but they can't send her to rehab given her lack of insurance. So, we are turning to you, her friends and family, to help raise funds for Ria to get her into a rehab facility for stroke victims so she can regain these skills. If you can donate or have contacts at a rehab who can help secure admission on a sliding scale, please reach out. If you can't donate, please think of and pray for Ria. We can't wait to hear her laugh again.
