My name is Rhonda, and for the past 30 years, I have worked as a registered nurse, always doing my best to help others in their times of need. I never imagined I would find myself in a position where I would have to ask for help, but life has taken an unexpected turn.
A few months ago, I fell at work and broke my hip, which required surgery and a long recovery with therapy. After about two weeks, I was sent home to continue healing, but unfortunately, I suffered another fall and broke the same hip again. This led to a second surgery on December 17th. My recovery has been complicated by medication issues, and I needed to spend time in a rehab facility for further therapy. While there, I became anemic and had to be hospitalized again.
Throughout this ordeal, I have used all my sick and vacation time from work, and my short-term disability has expired. I am currently waiting for long-term disability to be approved, and I have also applied for SSI and government disability, but those processes take time. As a result, I am struggling to pay my rent, utilities, car insurance, and car payment. My landlord has started the eviction process, and I am still in the hospital as I write this.
This is incredibly difficult for me to share, as I have always been independent and have never been without a job. I would be forever thankful and grateful for any help I receive. I have always tried to help others when I could, and now I find myself needing support. There's a time in everyone's life when they need help, and I hope to be there for others when I can. Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation to help me through this challenging time.
