Rhonda has recently been diagnosed with Malignant Mixed Mullerian Tumors (MMMT) of the uterus and Clear Cell carcinoma of the of the ovary and fallopian tubes. Both of these cancer types are rare but very aggressive. She has undergone surgery to have the tumors removed, but they could not get them all.  Because of the aggressive nature of the cancers, her medical professionals are urgently directing her to receive chemotherapy and radiation for the treatment of what they could not remove during surgery.  However, UAMS will not see her for even the first dosage unless she has $20,000 up front. Afterward each treatment is said to cost nearly as much per visit. She is looking at multiple visits per week for several weeks or months. She has a different type of medical insurance where the patient is to pay up front and submit claims to the insurance company for reimbursement after the fact. She also does not qualify for Medicaid assistance.

Rhonda Ivey aka Lala is the Matriarch of her family. She is known as "Lala" to her grandchildren, nieces/nephews and other children in our church. She is vital to her family and her church family. She is our Assistant Pastor's wife and the Ladies' Auxiliary leader. She always thinks about everyone else before she thinks about herself.
