Emergency in the Randolph Family

Mrs.Rhonda Randolph has been my friend for over fifty years now. She is a widow, caring for two severely disabled adult children that require full time medical care and support. Rhonda is also a parent that is legally blind with limited vision.

Last week she experienced a massive water emergency due to a slab leak. There is no running water coming into the home since Monday evening. She is using water from Walmart for bathing and drinking. There may be mold from the leak in the home.

The family lives on Social Security and due to a roof needing repairs, Rhonda does not have homeowners insurance. Her husband died during Covid, with a massive heart attack. Rhonda is not able to drive, due to her visual disability and spends every single day caring for the two children David Jr. and Miltra or Miltra. David has type one diabetes and is on insulin as well as many other medications for multiple complex medical conditions. His sister Mia is non ambulatory and unable to communicate. She rarely leaves the house, except for medical treatment. David age 44 has a companion, that takes him out into our community three times weekly for several hours. Mia has limited nursing care for her severe medical conditions. She requires full time care, and is unable to do anything for herself. Our home and Community based services allow Mrs. Randolph to care for them in the home that they all know, and are familiar with.

Last month Mia was hospitalized with a serious sepsis infection, and complications with complications from a Chronic Mega Colon disease. The doctors were not sure that she could recover. Thank God that she is still alive.

Both children have always lived at home, and that is what their mother is committed to as long as she is able to do so.

Please consider making a generous donation for the Randolph family in this dire situation. Your gifts will be greatly appreciated, and will be used to keep this family in their home living independently.
