Hi folks! As I'm sure many of you are aware, gender-affirming care is quite expensive for trans and cis people alike. Think facial plastic surgery, body plastic surgery, facial feminization surgery (FFS), sexual reassignment surgery (SRS), hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and much more.

As trans people, we are forced to think far into our futures in order to express deep care for our future selves and what their goals might be. I'm not sure what my future looks like or quite what I'll want. But I don't want to close the door on potentially having a family of my own.

I've created this GoFundMe because I'm struggling to afford the next step in my transition, which is fertility preservation, or in my case, sperm banking. I'm also thinking ahead to a potential SRS procedure or FFS. Out of the processes I've listed above, I'm mainly thinking about the sperm banking at this point. I'm lucky to have insurance that covers the cost of my HRT. SRS will be another hill to climb later down the line.

For those who are unaware, starting HRT before fertility preservation is usually not recommended, as it reduces sperm count and viability of samples. I'm painfully ready to start my HRT journey. But I can't because of this reason. Please, if you are able, help me afford this next step, so that I can go be the butterfly and strong, amazing woman I am growing into every day. The initial cost is about $3,000, with $600 annually to store. I'm thinking I'll be able to afford the annual fees along with STI testing and FDA testing that is required for each sample after the first two years. As such, my goal here is $4,500.
