Hey there friends, Rhi here.
If you weren't aware, I've had a lot of issues that came from my brain damage that resulted from having a tumor taken out of my brain back in 2018. This is on top of some other psychological health issues. Both of these combined with the stress of having to stay closeted to keep a roof over my head and my job has made me lose a lot of hours, especially this year. I don't make a whole hell of a lot of money to begin with, considering my hourly rate is $14. Back when I worked 90+ hour weeks, that wasn't a huge deal - but now that I don't breach 40 anymore, it just isn't covering my needs like it used to.
I've been able to maintain a stable lifestyle by learning how to save money where I can, but what I wasn't expecting was two trips to the ER in close succession because of syncopes (basically a fancy way of saying I passed out) that we still don't entirely know the cause of after the two aforementioned trips to the ER, three different ones to my primary care doc, and a handful of brain and heart scans. I also was unable to drive (therefore unable to work as I mostly drive forklifts on the job, let alone get there since my truck got towed during the first episode) so that knocked out a little over a weeks' worth of my already-reduced hours.
I got my bills in today for all of this, and I'm...well I'm kind of blown away by what my insurance won't cover. To say the least, I'm very nervous.
I need your help. I'm not asking for a lot, but if you can spare anything at all, it will all help me out more than you can know. One of the things that my primary care doc was thinking is a major cause of these episodes was just an overwhelming amount of stress that literally made my brain shut down - the longer I'm worried about this, the more at risk I am about it being the straw that breaks me for a third time, and I don't want that hanging over me. I know more tests and medical expenses are in my future but at least by then I'll have time to prepare and save. I need your help in the here and now.
If you can't afford to right now, know that a signal boost is still an assist. I appreciate you all the same.
