This is Rhianna, our amazing 13 year old daughter

Rhianna and her family need your help for an urgent operation to help to treat Rhianna’s scoliosis of her spine.

Rhianna is a vibrant, happy young girl. She likes to spend most of her time outside, and likes horse riding, water sports, karate, mini golf, walking and playing with her dogs.

In the last few months however, Rhianna has begun to develop Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, a condition where the spine develops abnormally, and curves excessively in one direction. In some cases this curving can cause damage to organs by putting excessive pressure on them. This is what’s happened to our Rhianna.  Rhianna’s Rib cage is now pressing on her lung which causes shortness of breath.  If her spine continues to grow Rhianna’s other organs may be affected plus she will lose her mobility to carry out every day activities.

Thankfully, this condition is treatable with an operation that applies spinal supports, however this operation is not available on the NHS, and we will have to travel to Turkey to have it performed, which will cost up to £100000.  Rhianna will visit Professor Ahmet Alanay, one of the world’s best spinal doctors this week to discuss her treatment in Turkey.
