Please help us help our friend, Rheannon! After 6 months of dangerous and mysterious symptoms & specialist visits in 3 states (1 electrophysiologist, 2 neurologists, 2 rheumatologists, 2 cardiologists, 1 endocrinologist, 1 infectious disease specialist, her primary care physician, and multiple ER visits), Rheannon has been accepted into the heart specialist program at the Mayo Clinic (6 states away from her home). This summer, she was told she had meningitis but after a spinal tap procedure, tested negative. She was then told she had classic covid symptoms but tested negative twice. Now they are looking at POTS and need two specialized and expensive tests in order to confirm. Before getting the help of the Mayo Clinic, she underwent a spinal tap, MRI, MRA, CT scans, 15 rounds of blood work, tilt table test, stress test, & a 6week holter monitor test. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (an autonomic nervous system disorder) explains her symptoms of severe migraines, neuropathy, GI issues, rapid heart rate, weight loss, blue hands/feet, and sweating. During her acute phase she lost almost 20 pounds, lost most of her muscle mass and was pretty much chair, bed and couch bound. Now that her treatment team has her on a heart medicine for the last month she has been improving and is able to do more. She is a mother of three beautiful children, an incredible Program Manager and advocate in public health, a loving wife, an incredible friend, a beloved fitness instructor, and a student in the final stage of her degree. She has dedicated her livelihood to helping others and improving her community and is now facing $4500+ medical bill debt from CVPH alone. Because her deductible is resetting on January 1, her medical debt is going to continue growing. In addition to the medical bills, she also has to pay for plane tickets/room and board to travel to the Mayo Clinic.
