In November, Rheanna was hospitalized for a chest infection and trouble breathing. Then doctors noticed a mass in her lung. After a tumultuous two weeks spent in isolation, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This devastating news came after a biopsy and bronchoscopy, which revealed enlarged lymph nodes and a Stage 2 diagnoses. To treat and hopefully cure Rheanna, her doctor has laid out a six-month plan of intense chemotherapy. 

Rheanna is a freelance journalist who writes about culture through food and travel. She is a bubbly ray of light who lifts up the people around her. She is dedicated to her craft, always hustling to tell the next powerful story — and pay her rent. At a time like this, her work will be completely stunted. Chemo sessions last upwards of four hours and leave her fatigued, nauseous, achy, and in pain. She also still has trouble breathing, and expects more side effects as treatment progresses. 

With costs stacking up, Rheanna is overwhelmed. Not only is this a physical toll, but an emotional, mental, and financial one as well. Your contribution will help ease these burdens.

Donations will be put toward medical bills for treatment/procedures, prescriptions, dog walking services, transportation to/from appointments and chemotherapy, nutrition/meals, and any additional expenses that are sure to come up during this difficult time.
