Help Reyad protect his elderly parents and newlywed wife

Hello everyone,

I am Reyad Krayem, I am a 28 year old from Gaza. My family consists of 7 individuals, including my two elderly parents, my twin brother, my sister, my younger brother, my wife Nagham, and myself. I am responsible for all of them and their care.

I am speaking to you from the shelters of Rafah. After more than 415 days of genocide, amidst starvation and displacement, I am living in a tent with my family.

My house along with my small shop were bombed with incendiary bombs and internationally banned phosphorus, which led to complete destruction and burning. My father worked for 35 years to collect the money to build our home that we lived in happily. It was our source of security, it has now become rubble. This forced us to evacuate and flee from Gaza City to Rafah after suffering from hunger because aid was prevented from entering Gaza for days, due to the war.

We walked from Gaza to Rafah on foot, it was a hard and dangerous journey, with much suffering. My mother was sick and could not walk, she was transported in wheel chair and we walked 10 kilometer. My father is sick and still suffering from pain in his back- this why he is unable to work now.

Now we are not receiving any aid, we are sleeping in a handmade tent on the ground. I made the tent by myself and the neighbors gave me some blankets- we are cold because I cannot buy more blankets; I don't have an income after losing my job and workplace when they were destroyed due to the war. I had a family business of selling clothing- I am now homeless and jobless. The war destroyed everything I owned. This increased my suffering- the war destroyed my family's future.

All this sadness is increasing. The suffering is great. When my family and I fled, we took only the clothes we were wearing. Now, even as winter is coming again, we cannot afford more clothes, we cannot buy them.

I never imagined all these hardships that I am suffering from. I cannot buy medicine for my mother and father, who both have health conditions and need support.

The war destroyed everything. I lost friends, neighbors, and my family's homes. All of these were destroyed. I hope you will support me in supporting my family, helping us to survive, and allowing for us to have. a future where I can rebuild my home and workplace.
