Help Rey Fight Multiple Myeloma and Leukemia
Donation protected
In December of 2024 my father Rey was diagnosed with a rare form of Multiple Myeloma with Leukemia in his bones. He spent three weeks in the hospital, fighting for his life. The doctors of Kaiser Fontana were amazing and did everything they could to nurse my dad back to health and get him stable enough to be released home and start weekly chemotherapy treatments.
Since then, he's continued weekly chemo treatments on top of heavy does of medications and weekly testing, all leading up to a big bone marrow transplant in May. This treatment will be incredibly difficult and require both my parents to be at City of Hope for three weeks. And then need to prepare for a long recovery after that.
This battle is just beginning for us but we're remaining optimistic that all these treatments will provide my dad with the best bet at maintaining his health while fighting multiple cancers in his body.
If you know my dad, you know his work ethic and positive attitude, also his willingness to help anyone and everyone who may possibly need it. Even when he has had nothing himself, he would still chose to give to others who need it more.
My parents were the proud owners of Rise Above Skate Shop in Rialto, CA for over 10 years before needing to sell the shop in order to focus on his cancer treatments. The shop was small but mighty and had an open door to anyone in the community who needed anything and everything - from a cool/warm place to hang and stay out of trouble in the neighborhood, a meal, or caring person to talk to. My dad gave everything he had, and more, to that shop, the community, and youth of Rialto.
Now we're asking for some of that support back. Funds raised will go towards helping pay for bills and other essential medical needs throughout my dad's cancer fight. Specifically, these funds will help provide peace of mind for my parents so they can focus everything they have on fighting my dad's cancer and lessen their worries about financial hardships that come with high medical costs.
Please pass this along and send your prayers. No amount is too small and we are eternally grateful for anything.
