Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to ask for help for my sweet dog Rexie. At her routine vet appointment on 12/10, after discussing her decreased appetite and lethargy, Rexie was found to have a dangerously high fever of 105. Since then, she has had to visit the emergency vet five times due to recurrent fevers that haven't responded to antibiotics. We have done multiple tests including a fever of unknown origin blood panel, chest and abdominal x-ray, abdominal ultrasound with lymph node aspirate, heartworm test, lymes disease and other tickborne illnesses panel, leptospirosis, salmonella and they have all been negative. We still don’t know what’s causing her illness and the uncertainty has been incredibly stressful for me and my partner, but we are doing everything we can to give Rexie a fighting chance.

Rexie has an Internal Medicine appointment on 01/04 and we have yet to determine the cause of this relentless fever. The costs of her vet bills have rapidly added up, but giving up is not an option—Rexie is like a child to me. She is such a loving, gentle soul and means the world to our family. We are holding onto hope that these next tests will give us clarity and a path forward.
