On Saturday the 14th, my beautiful pup Rex was involved in a terrible accident that caused him to break the femur in his back right leg. It’s been one of the hardest experiences we’ve ever faced together.
Rex is currently in the vet hospital waiting for surgery. The vets are hoping they can repair the break using a metal plate to realign the bone. Unfortunately, if this isn’t possible, Rex may need to have his leg amputated. Either outcome will be a huge change for both of us, but my only priority is making sure he has the best chance at a happy and comfortable life.
I’ve always been a very independent person and hate asking for help, but this accident was completely unexpected and I simply wasn’t prepared for the financial impact of emergency treatment and surgery.
The amazing team at the PDSA have been incredibly supportive to both Rex and me during this difficult time. Any funds raised will go towards Rex’s surgery, veterinary care, and the equipment he may need at home afterwards to help with recovery, comfort, and independence.
Rex means the world to me. He’s not just a pet — he’s my best friend and constant companion. I just want to give him the chance to heal and continue living the happy life he deserves.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time.
Em & Rex
I am currently trying to raise 7,000 so Rex can be seen by an orthopaedic Vet as his circumstances are more complicated than we initially thought!
