Rex is my small terrier mix who just turned 8 years old. He came into my life during Covid, after I lost my previous dog in a tragic accident. Rex was my saving grace during that difficult time, helping me cope with grief and keeping my spirits up. We moved in with family a year later, and Rex quickly bonded with our family dog. Sadly, we lost our family dog last month, and while Rex has been a bit calmer since, he still brings joy with his playful zoomies.
Last night, Rex slipped on some ice and suffered a spinal cord injury. When I brought him inside, he was unable to use his hind legs. I rushed him to the animal hospital, where they told me he would likely need surgery and a 48-hour stay. The doctors are hopeful—there’s a 90% chance that surgery will help Rex regain mobility in his back legs and hopefully be walking again in a month.
The estimated cost for Rex’s care is significant, and I’m reaching out for help to cover his hospital stay, surgery, and recovery, including medication. Any support for Rex’s care would mean the world to us. Thank you for considering helping him get back on his feet.
