My dog Rex is a 2 year old chocolate lab who needs his leg amputated ASAP. After 6 weeks of fighting off a severe infection in his leg, the infection has destroyed all of the cartilage in his knee and his leg is now beyond recovery.

My family, and specifically my 7 year old son love him very much. My son officially named him "Superhero Dog Rex" when we got him as a puppy. Rex also lives with his litter mate Kimber, a female black lab. They love playing and running and doing just about everything as a pair up until recently, when he started limping and developed the severe infection that has disabled his leg. She has been giving him space and he is not feeling up to all of their normal routines.

We desperately need help coming up with these funds to pay for his procedure. Rex has been through hell these past 6 weeks and we just want him to have the chance to recover. We all miss how happy, active, and playful he was and we hope that after his leg is removed and he recovers he can be a happy and normal tri-ped dog. Thank you so much for all of your help.
