What an end/start to the year!!
Our cat was run over on Xmas Eve.
The driver just drove away, and the car following saw it, stopped, and took Rex to emergency.
The first 4 days were touch and go as he stabilised from the shock
His lungs were bruised, and he needed 2 blood transfusions
But both his back legs were shattered and fractured in multiple places
He went in for a 4 hour surgical procedure, which involved putting his bones back together like a jigsaw puzzle on hardcore difficulty with a cats life on the line.
He pulled through fine, and he is home now and recovering well finally....
I can't say how humbled and grateful I am for all the surgeons and doctors that helped him get through
The Animal Referral Hospital in Piallago
They're absolute hero's.
We were able to get Rex into surgery due to an incredible gesture by Robert Verdon who offered to pay for Rex's treatment up front
Rex was in ICU for 7 days @ $1500/day =$10,500
The reconstructive surgery cost the remaining $9,500 including 2 x blood transfusions
They're put a screw in one side and a device called a string of pearls in the other, the operation took 4 hours
We will all be paying Robert back for years but if you would like to contribute we would be eternally grateful
Many thanks
Rex's family
