Help Rex Get the Urgent Knee Surgery He Needs

My name is Mike, and I’m asking for help for my boy, Rex. He has suffered serious ligament injuries in his left knee and needs surgery as soon as possible. The surgery alone is estimated at approximately $6,000 CAD. That doesn’t include the veterinary expenses already incurred, medications, or follow up appointments.

Anyone who knows me knows how much Rex means to me. He’s my family, my companion, and a huge part of Mikie’s Dog Services.

Rex’s life didn’t begin with the love and security every dog deserves. He was rescued from severe neglect, found starved and tied up, with scars from his past. When he came into my life, he struggled with fear and trusting others. Together, through patience, structure, training, and love, we worked to build his confidence.

Today, Rex helps me work with other dogs who struggle with fear and reactivity. Many of my clients have met him during training sessions and walks. The dog who once needed so much help has become part of helping other dogs and their families.

Now he needs our help.

It’s heartbreaking to see him facing this injury. I want to get him the surgery and care he needs so he has the best chance of returning to a comfortable, active life.

Funds raised will go toward Rex’s surgery and related veterinary care, including medications and follow up appointments. I’ll share the veterinary estimate and keep everyone updated as we arrange his surgery and move through recovery.
