I’m Rex, and I’m a 24-year-old YouTube content creator. I am launching this fundraiser under my online alias to protect my digital privacy and safety while I navigate the hardest fight of my life.

Recently, I was diagnosed with a sarcoma identified as likely Extraskeletal Ewing's Sarcoma- an incredibly deadly form of cancer with a very frightening mortality rate. This diagnosis was shocking as, for the past two years, I had been fine. Only to learn that my life is currently at risk of ending without immediate action and treatment.

What is Ewing Sarcoma
Ewing Sarcoma is an extremely rare form of cancer (with an occurrence rate of 1 per million) that forms without any influence from genetic, environmental, or lifestyle factors. It is an aggressive cancer characterized by its tendency to grow suddenly and rapidly into a tumor before shedding microscopic cells to metastasize to other sites.

With Ewing Sarcoma, cancerous tumors can form anywhere, at any time. It is considered a Bone Cancer, and while the variant I have happened to not present within bone initially, it could still infect bone marrow, or the lungs principally. Because Ewing Sarcoma cancer cells are so prolific and typically spread beyond the site of the tumor, this typically means that whatever location develops a tumor must be removed entirely. For example, if Ewing Sarcoma developed within an extremity like the foot or arm, the typical medical response is complete amputation.

Ewing Sarcoma is also considered a lifelong disease, as while the chances of recurrence decrease with time, it never completely drops to 0% as there's always a chance invisible cancer cells linger. Despite this, this cancer is considered "curable" because, hypothetically, Chemotherapy can purge the body of all Ewing Sarcoma cells. Still, it is impossible to verify whether that actually happens because of the disease's undetectable nature.

How This Pertains To Me
I recently had an operation to remove what general physicians deemed a non-threatening growth in my side, principally assumed to be a Lipoma. However, when my surgery was complete and the mass was biopsied to confirm its nature, it was found to be a "Malignant small round blue cell tumor", and through Immunohistochemistry testing was deduced to be Ewing's.

My tumor resided in my left chest wall for almost 2 years, residing in the Subcutaneous layer just above my ribcage. It was 3.8 cm large and hadn't changed in size over the course of those two years. However, since my tumor was presumed benign, it wasn't removed with cancer margins, meaning further surgery is necessary to ensure there are no lingering cancer cells in surrounding tissue.

Currently, I am undergoing imaging and bloodwork to search for evidence of metastasis from my Sarcoma. However, even if I am fortunate enough for my scans to be clean, I still need to undergo intensive Chemotherapy to eliminate any lingering microscopic cells within my body. Otherwise, my Sarcoma could recur, and my chances of survival will plummet.

Why I Need Help
Treatment for such a rare cancer requires specialists, which are very expensive. I've only just begun this process, and between my initial imaging, checkups, and surgeries alone, I have had to spend over $3,000+ out of pocket to secure timely care.

The funds from this fundraiser will help me pay for my further surgery, chemotherapy, testing, imaging, and the other medical costs that may continue to come up throughout treatment. If recurring support is not possible, one-time donations would still mean so much and help lighten the burden.

I love my cat, Maya, and my girlfriend very much, and I am holding onto the hope that with help, I may be able to survive this cancer and continue building a long life with the people I care about.

If you are able to support me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me pay for these treatments during a time when work will rapidly grow more and more difficult. Your assistance means more than I could possibly ever begin to repay.
