UPDATE 2/5/2023

Hello everybody! First off, we just want to relay our gratitude once again. You guys are so amazing and every penny helps. So thank you guys so much for the overwhelming support.

Rex is out of the ICU and back home now. The doctors told us her breathing is still abnormal, but it has stabilized enough for her to return home. However, through the x-rays, it shows that the pneumonia has spread and gotten worse.

We are administering her antibiotics at home as well as feeding her food and water with a syringe. She recently started accepting the food and water and is finally regaining some of her strength! Now she is walking around a bit more on her own, but still takes really long pauses as she’s walking. We also bought a humidifier and have been giving her some help breathing about 4 times a day.

It is so hard to watch her go through the pain and she has gotten so skinny in the past few days but Rex is being a strong kitty and we have so much hope she will get better soon! Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts, I think they reached her! ❤️ it means the world to us!!!

Hi, my name is Jaehee and I am fundraising for my kitty Rex. Last night at 1 AM, we found her having a really hard time breathing and less responsive. We immediately took Rex to the Emergency Department and she is currently still there, fighting for her life. We found out she has a severe case of pneumonia in both lungs and she is having labored breathing. She is currently in an oxygen chamber pushing 60% oxygen and receiving antibiotics since last night. The doctor said Rex could be hospitalized for days to possibly a week until we can wean her off of the oxygen.

Rex is having multiple rounds of labs, imaging, and two courses of antibiotics. We have already spent close to $5000 in medical bills and the cost will continue to significantly increase with each passing day spent in the hospital.

If you guys know me, Rex is the light of my life... I know it sounds dramatic, but she really means everything to me. I don't typically like to reach out for help, especially on financial issues, but I want to be able to provide as much support for her as I can to keep her alive and get her through this difficult time.
