We are YEG Coffee Can, and we need your help! We have been hopping around different Edmonton downtown locations, serving pour over coffees and cold brews in our repurposed seacan. The seacan was broken into at our latest location on 100st and 103a ave, and our generator and various equipment has been stolen! With that being said, there are a few options that we can take to move forward. A) Deal with insurance. Our deductible is $3000 and the process will take ~2-3months. Which means summer will be over and YEG Coffee Can is completely out of commission for the season. This process will also increase our insurance premiums and lead to a spiral of investigations that will further prolong the situation. B) Buy a new generator and replace equipment. We do not have sufficient cash flow right now to buy another brand new generator. C) Do nothing and shut down. Ideally, we would like to proceed with option B because we all know Edmonton only has a few short days of summer (which seems to be filled with rain this year). YEG Coffee Can would like to be around for the rest of summer so that everyone in Edmonton can come and enjoy. Which is why we are turning to the community for some help to restore our seacan container to working condition. You contribution will help us acquire a new generator, replace equipment, and pay for any other fees that may occur during this process. You will also be supporting a group of 5 young team members, who will otherwise be out of a job for the rest of summer. YEG Coffee Can would like to thank you all in advance for all your support in this difficult time. Thank you for supporting local businesses and communities.
