Over the past few years, our hearts and faith have been greatly tested with trials and difficulties. People’s lives and health were and are at risk and financial burdens have increased with the event of the Covid virus. But by the grace of Allah, the rays of relief are slowly starting to appear and with his mercy, tribulations are slowly easing.
Our scholars, centers and organizations have been a great source of comfort for us, providing stress-free, calm atmospheres where we can take a deep breath from the stress of life and concentrate on our creator and our eventual return to him.
One such organization that has given our community years of joy and a small, humble place to congregate is the Islamic Library of Dearborn. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the library has offered a place for community gatherings, ceremonies, education, social work and possesses one of the largest collections of Islamic literature that may exist in the United States. This collection consists of over 6000 books, both contemporary and rare—many are out of print. The library also offers a variety of books in Arabic and English for sale as well as small Qurans and Dua books as commemoration items for memorial ceremonies.
Due to the Covid pandemic and a lack of staff and volunteers, the library has suffered, like many of the organizations, centers and mosques around the world. This fundraising campaign is for the sole purpose to help revive the library, sustain its monthly expenses and help renovate and expand its aging structure.
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise enough money from the community who, for years, have utilized and benefited from the library for their spiritual and Islamic needs. Now, the library needs you—and any donation, small or large, will help the organization to continue the preservation of its beautiful literature collection as well as function for the needs of the community.
Please support the Islamic Library with your kind and generous donation today. As the Holy Quran says,
“Those who, in charity, spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”
