Help Reverse Heart Failure: Support for Pacemaker
Donation protected
In Feb 2024, I found out I had significant heart damage due to a chemotherapy drug given to me when I fought Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer some 17 years ago. In the year after that, despite care from a very good cardiologist, my heart function continued to drop until I was told I was in heart failure in May of 2025. The medications I was put on, while protecting my heart, cause extreme fatigue, low blood pressure, low heart rate, dizziness, and passing out, among other terrible side effects. Despite the dangers, I often lower the dosage of my heart meds just to function as a mother.
Since this has occurred, I've been forced to stop working, close a successful esthetics business, and sleep some 16 hours a day. I worry about being alone in case I pass out. I worry about the damage being done to my other organs due to the extremely low blood flow and blood pressure. Due to all of this, my doctors at Banner Hospital have recommended a pacemaker. For months, we jumped through insurance hoops to fill all required criteria for a pacemaker implant. But just this week, UHC has decided to deny my pacemaker. In short, they will not give me one until I am on my deathbed.
While I can appeal, UHC is notorious for taking 12 plus months to respond and oftentimes with another denial. Dan and I have decided the risk and damage to my heart is too much to wait any longer. My doctors feel this implant can reverse my heart failure and give me years back. I want to not only see my grandchildren born but help raise them. This GoFundMe is in the exact amount of the cost of my CRT-P device implant surgery. Please donate if you can, but don't worry if not. We will make it happen regardless. Thank you!!
