Building Dreams: A new Sensory Playground & School Upgrades
Donation protected
Help Iver Heath Infant School and Nursery PTA to raise funds to help renovate our school outdoor space.
We are looking to develop and maximise the potential of our outdoor space to support learning and to create safe stimulating places in the playground.
We have a garden area in need of repair and a playground without shade, and internal school fencing in need of updates and repair.
Our plans include a new sensory garden, in place of the existing garden area, where children will continue to be able to plant and grow produce, along side exploring sensory planting, sounds and stimuli. We are hoping to include a sensory hut – which will provide a much needed space for children to relax and re-engage their senses. We hope the area will provide a calm space where children can freely access if they are seeking a quieter place at playtime, away from the bustle of the main playground and develop their scientific learning as part of the structured curriculum.
We are also in need of some shaded areas in the playground. Our space is open and natural shade is limited in the middle of the day.
Ideally we would also like to renew our climbing frame – replacing it with more modern equipment that will challenge and inspire all our children from Reception through to Year 2.
The Power of Play : Why a Sensory Playground Matters
Traditional playgrounds can be overwhelming for children with sensory sensitivities, mobility challenges or developmental differences. Our goal is to create a space that welcomes every child – with sensory friendly equipment , inclusive play structures and areas designed to foster social interaction, creativity and fun for children of all abilities.
Your donation will help fund
- Building a new sensory-friendly garden that is safe, engaging and inclusive
- Enhancing the outdoor spaces with new fencing, seating and shade
- Providing adaptive equipment so that children of all abilities can engage in purposeful play
- Create a new playground climbing activity area to suit all ages and increase the children’s physical activity and core strength
Every pound makes a difference
We know times are challenging, but even the smallest donation can make a huge impact. Your support will help create an environment for children now, and in the future, to learn, grow and thrive.
Please share this link with your friends and families.
By making a donation you are not just helping to renovate a playground, you are investing in the future of our children and ensuring they have safe places to play and learn outdoors for years to come.
Thank you for support.
