Walmart & Police VS Rev. Timothy Meyer join fight!

MINISTER FIGHTS ALLEGATIONS OF TRESPASSING, RESISTING ARREST, AND STALKING AT WALMART AFTER REPORTING TO POLICE !

We, the members of the E-VAN Ministries board, have found the accusations and charges leveled at Timothy Meyer in relation to his return to the Walmart service desk on August 14, 2021 in complete opposition to our observations of his character over decades of knowing and serving with him. Now, having seen Chattanooga police body camera footage from the incident, the following things are clear to us:

· The purpose of Timothy’s return to the service desk was to report to store management phone harassment that had taken place since a visit to the store earlier that day.

· There is no evidence to support the charges or the statements reported in the news regarding Timothy stalking an employee or trying to bite a police officer.

· While in custody at the store, Timothy was the victim of unprovoked violent treatment, including multiple tasings.

Furthermore, now two years after the incident, other video of the incident, which should have long since been available, has not been released. We are saddened and outraged at the unfairness of Timothy’s treatment and are praying for swift justice with respect to this incident.

Finally, while we are drawing attention to the rogue actions of a few police officers, we want to express our deep appreciation and support for the many courageous civil servants who serve with integrity and risk their lives for the preservation of peace and justice.

Sincerely,
The Board Members of E-VAN Ministries

August 18, 2021 Timothy Meyer went to buy groceries at Walmart at the 501 Signal Mountain Blvd. location in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Before paying for groceries, he said God bless you to a couple of employees. Shortly after, we both were harassed by phone from a man impersonating law enforcement. This prompted Timothy to report it to Walmart, to Police and then to return to speak with Walmart management.

Police arrived due to the CAD report generated from Timothy’s call. Instead of CPD taking Timothy’s report, he was served a trespass form. He explained the situation and believed they were finished and stood up. Suddenly, Timothy was thrown into a metal bench and injuries followed. He failed heart tests and went by to the emergency room, and later underwent shoulder surgery. Allegations were aired by local news, defaming Rev. Meyer, the director of a locally-based Christian mission work, E-VAN.ORG, listed as E-VAN Ministries 501c3 Charity. He has led international mission teams for over 20 years.

PRAYERS ARE REQUESTED AND ANY HELP you feel led to give is appreciated, as we fight to clear Timothy’s name and bring justice! After we, Timothy and I, Melissa, filed a lawsuit on Walmart and Chattanooga, the D.A. changed a misdemeanor to a felony charge, unfoundedly claiming Timothy has had a previous conviction. Complaints have been filed against officers and civilians.

To date we have borrowed $20,000 for litigation. Our goal is to win the case and see justice. Our fundraising goal is $20,000.

Our family deeply appreciates all those lifting us up and all the good law enforcement officers that serve this Scenic City!

Sincerely,
Melissa Meyer, wife
Thomas Meyer, son
