Help Our Beloved Brother & Mu’adhin Bring His Son to Support Him

At Masjid As-Salaamah, we have a beloved elder who has been faithfully making the Adhan for years. He is a kind, humble man who lives alone, dedicating his life to serving our community and providing for his family back home — despite having very little himself.

Recently, he suffered a serious back injury, which has made daily life much harder. His mobility is getting worse, and although he has an aide who visits a few times a week, he truly needs more help. He dreams of bringing his son from Africa to live with him — not only so his son can care for him in his old age, but also so together they can better provide for their family back home.

Unfortunately, the costs for travel and immigration are more than he can afford on his small social security income. Here’s what’s needed:

• Airline ticket for his son: ~$1,000

• Visa costs : ~$540

• DNA testing fees for both father and son: ~$2,440

Total goal: $4,000

As the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the Hereafter.” (Sahih Muslim)

Our brother is one of the pillars of our community — his voice has called us to prayer countless times. Now it’s our turn to answer his call for help.
