Dasha Lawson: Help Reunite My Ukrainian Family
Donation protected
From Dasha Lawson:
This war is “devastation.”
It causes people to become refugees. To become homeless, to lose every possession. It causes the women to become separated from their husbands, their fathers, their older sons, their grandfathers. They are no longer able to provide for their children.
ALL of that in a single day!!
If fortunate enough, it means to land in a foreign country without time to prepare. Without even knowing the language.
This is the story of so many, but also of my mother, my sister and her kids. My brother-in-law is somewhere in Ukraine, fighting for his country.
We need to raise funds to help support Irina (my mother), Liza (my sister) and her two kids, Mark (10) and Adelina (5). We want to help care for & support them in Poland, then get them here to the US. We hope to be able to bring them here to Minnesota and welcome them into our home.
By God's mercy, they are out of the refugee camp and in temporary housing for 2-3 months. Then back to a refugee camp. The Polish government is helping as much as possible, but the task is overwhelming. Help from family and friends is urgent and critical.
The US immigration system is complicated. We need to hire an immigration attorney to assist my family. Right now, we are asking for you to join us in this effort to collect support dollars for my sister, her kids, and my mom. We think that a good starting point is to raise $20,000. That will help cover some of the anticipated expenses in Poland and the attorney fees. We don’t have exact costs yet as you can imagine.
Any amount, no matter how small, will help. Thank you so much!
