My name is Evelyn Suarez, and I am the daughter of Mauricio Suarez Dolores. While I was heading out of my house, I.C.E. picked up my father on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2026, at approximately 5:30 am in Oceanside. The only things left in his truck were his keys and a piece of bread he was not able to take a bite of. When my neighbors told me, “I.C.E took your dad,” my world came crashing down and all the fear I have felt since I was a little girl became my reality. Over 30 years ago, my father came to this country to build a better life for himself and his family. My father has worked hard to achieve the American Dream, and support the people he loves the most.
My father is the pillar of our family. My father is the type of man that always carries a smile on his face, regardless of the hardships he faces. Even with him in the detention center, he continues to worry about his family and his job. That is the type of man my dad is: hard-working, selfless, optimistic, loving, responsible, and a man of God.
Right now, our family is facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain situation. While my father remains detained, we are doing everything we can to support him and navigate the immigration process. Unfortunately, the legal process is complicated and expensive. We are raising $15,000 to help cover immigration attorney/legal fees, bond (if applicable), transportation, housing, basic family expenses, and other specific costs. Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, coworkers, and community would mean just as much to us.
Most importantly, we want my father to know that he is not alone. We will stand together and stay strong! We are doing everything we can to help my father through this difficult period and reunite our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for supporting our family, and for sharing this fundraiser. Your kindness, prayers, encouragement, and generosity mean more to us than we can put into words.
Thank you for standing with the Suarez family.
