Hello, my name is Jose Juan, and today I am writing with a broken heart.

Recently, my wife Laura was detained by ICE. She is the mother of our six children, two of whom are still in school: Antonio Lopez (13) and Laura Lopez (11). She is their primary caregiver; she is the one who takes care of our children, their education, their well-being, and provides them with the love and stability they need. Unfortunately, due to immigration issues, I don't have a job or a driver's license, which makes our situation even more desperate.

Laura has no criminal record. She has lived here in the U.S. for more than 20 years. She is a good, hardworking woman completely devoted to her children. She has also been an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Diocesan Shrine in Warsaw for approximately 10 years, and is known and loved by many people in the community. Her absence has left a huge void in our home. Our children are confused, scared, and suffering deeply from not having their mother with them. Seeing them cry and ask when their mother will come home is something no parent should ever have to experience.

We are trying to raise funds to pay the immigration lawyer who is handling her case so that she can help us get her out of detention before they make the decision to deport her. Every day is crucial, and the legal costs and expenses are very high for us to manage on our own.

We ask from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can give us. Any donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to keeping our family together. If you cannot donate, sharing our story or keeping us in your prayers also means a great deal to us.

Thank you for reading our story and for helping us during this very painful time. May God bless you and multiply your generosity.
