My name is Kevin, I am a senior at Carpinteria High School and I am reaching out for support after my father was taken by ICE on Wednesday March 18, 2026 around 6:20am.
That morning began like any other morning when my father left for work in the company work truck. Asleep, my uncle woke me with an alert that ICE was in town. We immediately panicked and worried about my father. My sister called our dad to make sure he was safe, but he never answered. I called his work, and a coworker confirmed he never arrived.
I ran out and began searching for signs of my father without success. Eventually, a family member found his abandoned work truck. At that moment, my biggest fear came true. My father was taken, he was gone, and our lives were forever changed.
My mother broke down at the sight of his abandoned work truck. I knew I had to be strong for my family, but inside I was broken. His coffee remained in the cup holder and his breakfast left untouched. Everything happened so fast. A regular morning turned into my family's biggest heartache.
My father is an honest and hardworking family man without a criminal record. He is the main provider for our family and a support system for others in the community. My father is currently being held in Adelanto where he is anxiously waiting to be reunited with us again.
I am asking the community for support during this difficult time for my family. We are in the process of obtaining legal representation for my father with the hope that he will be released on bond. In the wake of this traumatic experience, the household expenses have fallen solely on my mother. Any support given to us during this time is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others to help spread the word. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, please keep my family in your prayers.
