Jose Luis' family’s life changed in an instant when he was unexpectedly kidnapped by ICE in January while riding his bike. For nearly 20 years, he has built a life in this country centered around his family — living honestly, maintaining a clean record, and doing everything he could to provide stability and security for his wife and children.

He and his wife are raising two children, ages 13 and 8, who depend on their father every single day. Jose Luis is a humble, kind, and deeply devoted father and husband. He is the type of person who shows up for others — always willing to help friends, neighbors, and anyone in need without hesitation. His family is his entire world.

Recently, his children were able to visit their father for the first time since his detention at Adelanto. It was heartbreaking. His 8-year-old daughter kept asking when he was coming home and whether she could stay there with him. No parent should have to explain to a child why their father cannot come home. His 13-year-old is also struggling, trying to be strong while carrying confusion, fear, and pain.

His sudden absence has created overwhelming emotional and financial hardship for the family. Along with the pain of separation, they are now facing urgent legal expenses and basic living costs such as rent, food, and utilities as they fight to keep their family together.

La vida de la familia de Jose Luis cambió en un instante cuando fue detenido inesperadamente por ICE en enero mientras iba en su bicicleta. Durante casi 20 años, ha construido una vida en este país centrada en su familia — viviendo honestamente, manteniendo un récord limpio y haciendo todo lo posible para brindar estabilidad y seguridad a su esposa y a sus hijos.

Junto a su esposa, está criando a dos hijos de 13 y 8 años que dependen de su padre todos los días. Jose Luis es un hombre humilde, bondadoso y profundamente dedicado a su familia. Siempre ha sido el tipo de persona que está presente para los demás — dispuesto a ayudar a amigos, vecinos y a cualquier persona que lo necesite sin dudarlo. Su familia es su mundo entero.

Recientemente, sus hijos pudieron visitar a su padre por primera vez desde su detención en Adelanto. Fue un momento desgarrador. Su hija de 8 años preguntaba constantemente cuándo iba a regresar a casa y si podía quedarse con él. Ningún padre debería tener que explicar a sus hijos por qué no pueden volver a casa juntos. Su hijo de 13 años también está luchando emocionalmente, intentando ser fuerte mientras carga con confusión, miedo y dolor.

Su ausencia repentina ha creado una enorme dificultad emocional y económica para la familia. Además del dolor de la separación, ahora enfrentan gastos legales urgentes y costos básicos como renta, comida y servicios mientras luchan por mantener a su familia unida.
