In April of 2017, Janie suffered a massive stroke and was left paralyzed on the left side of her body, making her immobile and unable to perform simple life tasks. She has been in a theuraputic nursing home in Annandale since. I have traveled extensively from Florida to see her and spend time with her, but everyone that has seen her, since the stroke, knows that the best thing for her is to move down to Florida and be with her family. With her recent rejection from Medicaid in the state of Virgina, due to members of her business refusing to formally close the business, now is the time to move Janie down to Florida so that she can be reunited with her daughters and her grandchildren- something we have been waiting to do for months. Moving a person across several state lines who is completely immobilized is not a only difficult process, but very expensive process as well. Although I had been previously promised money from Janie's business sale to help with the expenses of moving her down to Florida, her boyfriend and business manager Eric is now refusing to give Janie any of her money that she worked so hard to earn over several decades, and he will not be helping with Janie's transition down to Florida. I am at a complete loss. This journey with Janie has been heartbreaking and financially straining, and that is why I am reaching out to you, all of Janie's friends and clients, to please help me move my mother down to Florida. This matter is URGENT due to the fact that Janie will be kicked out of her current nursing home in the next few days. So please, if Janie ever meant anything to you, whether it be in your work life or personal life, please consider donating. Any amount helps!
