Help Grace & Ken Fight for Justice:
Introduction:
Dear Friends & Supporters,
My name is Kristina Hedrick. I am a native of the area with eight children and eight grandchildren. I have known Grace and Ken for several years, and Ken is a work colleague of mine.
I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a sincere plea for assistance. Our dear friends, Ken Peachey and Grace Vandusen, are enduring an incredibly challenging time due to wrongful accusations and treatment that has led to substantial legal expenses.
We believe firmly in their fight for justice and are seeking your support to help them through this difficult period.
Background:
Ken and Grace have been pillars of our community, known for their kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for others. Unfortunately, they have been wrongfully accused of an incident at a local business.
A stranger alleged that when Ken tried to stop Grace from falling after she jumped up out of a chair, he abused and hurt her. This accusation led to Ken being arrested and charged, despite not having harmed Grace in any way. As a result, Grace was taken to a psychiatric unit and later transferred to a nursing home facility, a place she never wanted to be.
Grace is a very sweet and dear woman experiencing health challenges with dementia. Grace is from Korea. Grace and Ken met almost ten years ago. Grace moved to the area about 2 years ago so that they could be together. Ken has become her "whole" person—her father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, friend, and husband. Grace often says that Ken is all of these people to her. Ken has been trying to keep Grace active within the community by going to Church, singing in the local choir group, dancing, traveling, shopping, painting classes, running errands, and so much more. Grace, always very stylish and groomed, and we had just started to see improvements in her health due to Kens commitment to her health and his unwavering concern for her welfare when this unfortunate event happened.
She has been absolutely stripped from the life she trusted, loved, and appreciated like a thief in the night. Her wishes and plans have been ignored, stolen from her. She understood what her health changes would bring, and she made the appropriate plans for that time when it came. Grace chose Ken to be her "person" and she wants to return to him. Ken has been sick with deep worry for Grace. Grief stricken with concern for her emotional, physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Grace & Ken need to be reunited as soon as possible so that the years (I hope years and years) they have left can be spent together building memories together. The way Grace had planned it.
There is fear that Grace is not aware of what is exactly transpiring. Grace is probably experiencing fear, confusion and terror that mimics the experiences of her life in Korea. Grace does not have any of her personal items and is wearing hospital gowns. Ken is trying to deal with this situation alone and isn't allowed to have any contact with Grace. I can’t imagine what it feels like to be suddenly separated and not have control over your own choices and decisions.
The Impact:
The stress and financial burden of this situation have taken a toll on Ken and Grace. They are fighting not only for their rights but also to set a precedent that will protect others from similar injustices. The legal fees are mounting, and they need our help to ensure they receive the fair treatment they deserve. Your contribution will help cover legal fees, court costs, and other related expenses, allowing them to focus on their case without the additional worry of financial strain.
How You Can Help:
We kindly ask for your generous donations to help Ken and Grace with their legal expenses (which are separate expenses). Every dollar counts and will make a significant difference in their fight for justice. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your network to help spread the word.
Closing:
Standing together, we can make a significant difference and support Ken and Grace in their fight for justice. Every bit of help matters.
With gratitude, Kristina Hedrick
