Help Reunite Carlos Calix Martinez with His Family

On May 28th, 2025, a family very close to my heart was ripped apart by immigration in NJ.

Carlos Calix Martinez is a father, husband, brother, son, and friend to many who unfortunately finds himself needing our help. Carlos was unfairly detained by immigration, leaving behind 3 children and a wife. His youngest son is only 2 years old, far too young to comprehend what has happened and understand that his daddy is “away” or even why his father is gone. His kids are greatly affected by the absence of their father and are heavily counting on our financial support to keep them together, whether it be in the US or another country. His 2-year-old son is heavily dependent on Carlos, and his absence is causing a loss of appetite, decreased energy, and overall sadness that only the presence of his father could take away. His daughter, who is the biggest daddy’s girl we know, has been having panic attacks and is beginning to show how much this situation is truly affecting her. Carlos is blessed to have a wife who is willing to travel the world to hold her family together, but unfortunately, finances are the only issue. Everything happened when we could all least expect it (just days prior to his son's 2nd birthday), and this is why we are pleading for your help. Carlos was taken to Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, NJ, where there are currently riots over the poor treatment of detainees and lack of support for those being held. Three days ago, Carlos was awoken to being transferred to Texas, a state that is a 24-hour drive away, which has literally ripped him apart from his family. Carlos went from being a 40-minute drive to being placed across the country with zero explanation. His wife and kids are hoping through our support, they can fly to Texas and stay there until his court hearing where a final decision will be made. This would allow his children to see him a few more times just in case he does have to say goodbye to the US. He was only 4 years old when he entered this country and has grown to call this country his home. This is the only land he knows, and due to the lack of information and support provided to him as a child, he finds himself now paying the price. His wife has missed many days of work due to having a 2-year-old who was once cared for by his father. His wife is now the sole provider and will continue to be moving forward. She takes on the responsibility of rent, bills, childcare, food, gas, & supplies for her 2, 6, and 11-year-old children.

Today they need your help, but tomorrow it could be you or someone you know needing a hand. The system is cruel, and Carlos is not a criminal. The only “crime” he has committed is living in the country he was raised in, while being unaware that one day his world would be turned upside down. Any amount, big or small, is appreciated.
