Our community is rallying together to support a beloved dad, partner, and neighbor in SOMA who was recently taken by ICE.
He is a devoted father to three girls — the oldest a student in SOMA and an avid basketball player. He never misses her games, always cheering from the sidelines with pride. Now, as basketball season begins, his family’s greatest wish is simple: to have him home in time to see her first game.
Unfortunately, he is currently being held in ICE custody, and his family is facing an uphill battle to bring him home. There is an urgent need to file a habeas petition to secure his release and prevent him from being moved out of New Jersey. The current administration is rapidly transferring detainees out of state, which can fast-track deportation or result in prolonged detention — even for people like him, who does not have an order of removal!
Time is critical. Most legal service providers are at full capacity, but the family has been fortunate to find an attorney willing to work through the weekend to file the necessary paperwork and fight for his release. The funds raised here will go directly toward covering those legal fees to ensure that he gets his day in court as soon as possible.
He is a hardworking, loving father who has been in the U.S. since he was 6 years old and has built a life here in New Jersey. He’s an active member of our community — a neighbor, a friend, and a dad who shows up for his kids every single day. Let’s show up for him now.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps bring this family one step closer to being reunited. Please contribute if you can, and share this campaign widely to help bring him home.
Thank you for standing with him and his family!
