Ronald Taylor dedicated 33 years of his life to serving and protecting the people of Memphis as a patrolman with the Memphis Police Department. He stood in the gap for families he never met, victims he never forgot, and a city he believed in. Now, for the first time, Ronald needs someone to stand in the gap for him.
Earlier this year, Ronald suffered a devastating blow when he lost his limited savings to a financial scam. Not long after, a portion of his roof collapsed, leaving his home exposed to rain, cold, and the harsh winter weather. Without homeowners insurance and unable to afford the emergency repairs, Ronald has been left in a vulnerable situation. True to his humble and proud nature, he never asked for help himself—a neighbor reached out on his behalf, knowing how much he has given to the community.
When I received the call and learned of Ronald’s situation, I got to work—I knew who to call. Officer Keely Greer secured a heavily discounted repair commitment from My Town Roofing, and Memphis PIO Officer Teresa Carlson made contact with the Memphis Boll Weevils, who blessed Ronald with a generous donation which the Memphis Police Association matched. We have brought Ronald close to restoring his home, but there is still a gap to fill.
Every dollar donated will go directly to the remaining repair balance—no fees, no extras, just the urgent work needed to make Ronald’s home safe again. No contribution is too small.
