Help Retired Grandparents After Devastating Fire

My name is Marjorie Smiley. I am fundraising for my mother and father in law. They recently lost everything in the Oregon rd fire in Elk, Wa.

Complete total loss. They had mere minutes to leave. Everything was left behind.

Jim and Pam Smiley have been married over 45 years. Lived in Elk for 35 of those years. Jim worked as a foreman for Spokane road construction and in the later years, for the USPS. Pam raised 5 children, then opened her home to provide care for local foster children.

During their retirement they have opened their home to anyone who needed it. If someone needed money, they gave it. Needed a car they lent it, needed help or a meal, they provided it.

They are both in their 70s and need help for themselves this time. Jim needs a walk-in bathtub or shower without a lip from a recent spine surgery. And Pam is no spring chicken either. They worked very hard and their bodies are not what they used to be. The signs of time have crept up on them.
