Hello beautiful people! This is Rachie.
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but for the past two years, my mom and best friend, Brenda Baker, has fought a courageous battle against cancer. She has always been the one to give, whether it was to the army, the neighborhood, the local Starbucks and Firestone staff, my friends and extended family, or even a new buddy at the wineries back when she used to enjoy a taste out here in Wine Country. She has always been so eager to give extra love, care, and support to everyone around her… and now, she needs us to return the love, care, and support back!

Recently, especially in the last month, her health has been rapidly declining, and it has become much harder for her to do even the simplest tasks to get through each day. I am with her every step of the way, doing everything in my power to make her life happier and easier, including pulling back on my cosplay modeling career to become her primary caregiver. But we are faced with many obstacles in the home we rent currently, which is no longer fit for her needs as it has become harder for her to get around, and she can no longer keep up with the maintenance this house has required from her the last few years we’ve been here.

As her mobility decreases, the stairs, narrow hallways, and overall layout of our current place have become dangerous barriers. I simply cannot give her the safe, dignified care she requires in this environment. Nor is she able to relax and try to let go of some of her stress in a place with a calming ambiance, open layout without stairs and safety hazards, and a quieter neighborhood when rest is so essential in her healing.

We are launching this fund to help relocate Momma Bear into a one-story, ranch-style home.

This isn't just about a new address; it’s about giving her a space where:

*She is safe from falls and can navigate without any additional unnecessary pain and stressors.

*We can set up the necessary medical equipment and treatment areas.

*She can rest in a peaceful environment that supports her medical needs.

I don’t know how much time we have left with her. What I do know is that every single moment matters. I want those moments to be spent holding her hand in comfort, not struggling against a living space that no longer fits her needs.

If you are able to donate, share this link, or simply send a prayer our way, it means more than I can express. As she would always tell me, there’s power in numbers! I do believe that to be true and am finally reaching out for any and all support on all levels. Thank you for helping me give my mom the dignity, safety, and love she deserves during this difficult chapter of her life.

With lots of love and gratitude,
Rachie
