Help Reta and her family in Gaza

My name is Kenshi Sugita and I record audio as part of a group of volunteers who are covering the protests for Palestine around Tokyo, whose videos are streamed on a platform called Chose Life Project. Reta saw my IG handle on one of their posts, and reached out.

Reta (Rawan Tayseer Mohammed Al-Louh) is 23 years old and lives with her family of nine in a cramped tent in a refugee camp in the al-Baraka roundabout in Deir el-Balah, after being displaced three times, each time to a “safe area,” which obviously does not exist anywhere in Gaza. Her large family home in Deir al-Balah was bombed and destroyed at the onset of the invasion nine months ago. At the time, she had just received her diploma from university with a secretarial specialization, and was looking for work. The many sheep her family kept as a source of living died from lack of food and the bombing.

With no sources of income available, Reta and her family's situation is exceedingly dire, as the siege and carnage shows no signs of stopping. Her family now lives in a small tent.

Funds are urgently needed, pending an imminent attack on Deir al Balah and likely evacuation from the refugee camp Reta and her family are in (if it takes place, their forth displacement). At the time of this writing, tanks are already moving in, and aid agencies have been instructed to leave by the Israeli forces.
