Help Restore Wrestling Dreams for Wheeler Boys

I have gone back and forth on sharing this a hundred times because asking for help is not something that comes easy to our family. They have always figured things out, worked extra, sacrificed, and done whatever was necessary for their boys.

The money they had saved wasn’t for themselves. It was for their four boys—for wrestling tournaments, travel, hotel rooms, team fees, and the opportunities they’ve spent years working toward. Anyone who knows them knows wrestling isn’t just a sport in their house—it’s a huge part of their lives. Countless hours in the gym, long weekends on the road, early mornings, late nights, and years of dedication have opened doors for these boys that most can only dream of.

Then their world was turned upside down.

When their dog was shot, they didn’t stop to think about the cost. They weren’t looking at bank accounts or savings accounts. They were looking at a beloved member of their family fighting for his life. They did everything they could to save him, emptying the savings they had worked so hard to build because, in that moment, giving him a chance mattered more than anything else.

Nearly $4,000 later, they still came home without him.

The heartbreak of losing him has been overwhelming. The boys are hurting. There have been tears, nightmares, anxiety, and a grief that has touched every corner of their home. Life hasn’t felt the same since. Knowing them, they would spend every penny all over again if it meant bringing him home, but the reality is that he’s gone, and the savings they had set aside for their boys’ dreams are gone too.

As their sister and aunt, it is incredibly difficult to watch them carry both the emotional and financial weight of this tragedy. Their boys have opportunities ahead of them that they have earned through years of hard work, sacrifice, determination, and talent. They deserve those opportunities. They deserve to continue chasing their dreams without carrying the burden of what happened that night.

So many people have reached out asking how they can help. The only reason I am sharing this fundraiser is because of those people—not because this family expects anything from anyone, but because they have been shown so much love and support through all of this.

If you’re able to donate, thank you. Your generosity will help them recoup the savings that were spent trying to save a beloved member of their family and help ensure these boys can continue pursuing the opportunities they have worked so hard to earn.

If you’re able to share, thank you. If all you can do is keep them in your thoughts and prayers, thank you. Every bit of support means more than words can express.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for loving my sister, her family, and these incredible boys. Thank you for helping make sure that one tragic night doesn’t take away opportunities they have spent their entire lives working toward. ❤️‍♂️❤️
