Help restore the 'tree' at Sycamore Gap

Donation protected
My name is Chris Wayman.

As many have, today I heard that the tree at Sycamore Gap was sadly felled by an act of vandalism. I was appalled and shocked by this.

This tree was a huge source of income for the area and brought happy memories to approximately 1.5 million people who visited the Northumberland National Park last year.

I want to start this fund to raise money so we can work together with a local artist/metal worker and ultimately an installation company to work with the local councils and help install a large tree-like sculpture in place of the felled tree.

All remaining money is to go to the Northumberland National Park to upkeep and help preserve our beautiful countryside for many many years to come.

I understand this may not be easy. So anyone willing to help with this idea/venture is greatly appreciated. I am confident between us we can make this happen.

Let us stand together on this. Thank you for reading.

UPDATE: As of 28th Feb 2024 I have paused donations being made. The National Trust off the back of the horrific event are now the ones tackling the regeneration of the area in the best interest of the future of Sycamore Gap. On their site they recommend money raised to be donated to the Plant a tree campaign to help with both Sycamore Gap and Northumberland.

After the gofundme fees £284.09 was raised.

Thanks you all for making a difference
