Introducing the Tiburon...the newest addition to the California Ocean Adventures Fleet! This former fireboat is destined to become our premiere dive and ocean adventure charter boat but she needs a little work first (okay a LOT of work). The hull is sound but this vessel needs to be taken down to the bones and restored/rebuilt. It's a big project and we could use some help with funding it. She is truly a diamond in the rough and this is an amazing opportunity to bring our FIRST dive/adventure charter boat to the Santa Cruz Harbor.

As a retired firefighter, the Tiburon is built like a tank below the waterline and needs some serious TLC above water. With the help of our community, we hope to give her a new life as an electric charter vessel using the latest in electric propulsion technology with a clean diesel generator backup. While she will primarily be a dive charter, we plan on whale watching and educational excursions as well. As an electric propulsion boat, the Tiburon will be silent and less invasive to the Monterey Bay wildlife and more pleasant to cruise on.

We plan to donate the old fire monitor (aka water cannon) back to the fire department or other museum/collection and refit the lazaret (compartment for the water pump) for an air compressor.

Donors will be invited to work parties, happy hours on the boat and maybe even sea trials! The Tiburon is afloat in a coveted slip in the Santa Cruz Harbor and her ample deck (11' wide) is perfect for enjoying the sights & sounds of harbor life.
