Help Restore the Supernatural Impala

My name is Katie, and I’m a passionate young filmmaker with a dream that’s been years in the making. Alongside my dad, I spent two years searching for the perfect car—a four-door 1967 Chevrolet Impala, famously known for its role in the original show Supernatural. For fans, the Impala isn’t just a car; it’s a character in its own right, and I knew that any reinterpretation of the show would be incomplete without it. The idea for my independent, genderbent fan-made version of Supernatural actually started with the car itself. I wanted to restore it as a project with my dad, making it a meaningful journey for both of us.

We finally found an Impala in pretty good condition, with a solid body except for a couple of rusty holes on the bottom—nothing new floor panels can’t fix. The seats need reupholstering, which I’m excited to tackle myself if I can get the right materials. There’s also rewiring, some engine replacements and maintenance, and cosmetic work to be done. I’ve been able to find deals through local shops and family friends, but the restoration is still the biggest thing holding us back from starting to film. Without the Impala, the show would be missing a vital character.

As someone who is chronically ill, I don’t have the resources to fund this project on my own, but I’m determined to make it happen. My hope is that this film will showcase the strength and creativity of the Supernatural fandom, especially the new generation of devoted fans. Projects like mine keep the fandom alive, spark new conversations, and inspire others to create. Right now, I’m working on the pilot, but with your support, I can bring this vision to life and hopefully make much more. If you love Supernatural, independent film, or just want to help a young creator and her dad, I’d be so grateful for your support.
