Help Restore The Exchange Pool After Chantal Damage!

On July 6, our beloved Exchange Pool was devastated by Tropical Storm Chantal. In just a few hours, years of memories and hard work were swept away. The pool filled with silt, the cement cracked, and the storm left behind widespread damage to our facilities.

But what happened next was extraordinary.

Within days, our community showed up with shovels, buckets, and boundless heart, to clean, scrub, and reclaim what the storm tried to take. Our volunteers efforts reminded us of what makes this place so special: it's not just a pool, it's a home for summer memories, friendships, and resilience.

These pictures show not only the damage, but the progress that our beloved pool community has made over the course of only a few short days. With the help of so many current and past members, our main pool is almost completely cleaned out and what remains are repairs that will be costly and are beyond our capabilities to complete ourselves.

After a full assessment, we now know what it will take to reopen the pool:

Fence reinstallation

Concrete repair

Electrical and plumbing repairs

Lawn chairs and safety equipment

Parking lot grading and gravel

And more essential fixes

The total estimate to repair and safely reopen the pool is $60,000.
