Help Restore the Bachman's Flood-damaged Home

My name is Mandy, and I am trying to raise enough money to replace the insulation and drywall in our home after it flooded in the July 4th flooding here in San Angelo, Texas. My husband, my 2-year-old daughter, and I were at home the morning of July 4th when the water started flooding into our house. Thankfully, my husband and I were just waking up as the water began coming in, and we were able to get a lot of our belongings put up on higher ground before they were destroyed. We even used our toddler's big Lego blocks to prop some of our furniture up above the waterline.

I was very hesitant to make a fundraiser, as I am so grateful that my family is safe and our home is currently able to be lived in. So many people here have been through far worse devastation in the last week. However, it is requiring a lot of work to keep our home habitable. After continuing to work on cutting out drywall and insulation to avoid black mold, purchasing multiple dehumidifiers and a shop vac, along with other supplies to repair our home after the flooding that occurred, the financial math isn't mathing very well.

Any money you donate will go to the building materials needed to repair our house. If we are able to find the materials we need for less than is donated, I would like to donate the remaining proceeds to my neighbors who are in a similar or worse position than we are.
