Since its founding in 2019, The Friends of Swan Lake Park has worked to get Markham Council and staff to address the many issues in Swan Lake and Swan Lake Park. We have had many successes, but there is more to do, and we need your financial support.

WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON NOW?

• Having Swan Lake Park included in Markham’s Natural Heritage Network

• Promoting a plan to end Swan Lake’s role as a stormwater pond

• Promoting a water restoration program that deals with all issues

• Sourcing more robust investigation and research into sustainable solutions

• Pursuing an assessment and improvement of the land-based habitat

• Requesting a new viewing deck on the western shoreline
