We are a farming business in Delaware specializing in Japanese vegetables. Originally founded by Mr. Suzuki in 1983, the farm was passed on to us in 2021. Since then, we’ve been supplying fresh produce to grocery stores and restaurants in major urban areas such as NYC, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia. This year, we also began participating in farmers markets here in Delaware.
Our farm is located in Delmar, a quiet and peaceful town where serious incidents are rare. However, in the early hours of September 1st, we experienced an unfortunate break-in. One of our drivers, who was preparing for a delivery to NYC, encountered the intruders during his shift. Thankfully, he was not harmed.
The damage, however, was significant:
Office windows were shattered
Cash and equipment were stolen
Most critically, both of our delivery vans had their windows smashed, disrupting our ability to make deliveries and attend farmers markets this week.
While we’re deeply saddened by this event, we’re grateful that no one was injured and that our fields and growing facilities remain intact.
Our team—made up of staff from Japan working alongside local workers—is committed to growing delicious, seasonal vegetables and sharing them with our community. To continue doing so, we are seeking support to restore our operations and recover from this setback.
We would be truly grateful for your donation and support. Thank you for helping us move forward.
