Help Restore Sri Govindaji Gaudiya Math
Dear devotees and friends,
We hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. Unfortunately, our beloved Sri Govindaji Gaudiya Math in Houston bore the brunt of severe thundstorms and tornadoes with winds up to 100mph on Thursday, May 16.
The front portion of our temple building suffered significant damage, with the gutter and roof blown away, leading to extensive water leakage into various rooms. Despite our best efforts, valuable items were lost, and the rooms, including those used by our traveling preachers & sanyasis, deity dresses, pujari, and classrooms, were heavily impacted.
Furthermore, both of our Tulasi greenhouses were completely damaged, along with several plants. One of the AC units in the temple hall was knocked down and ceased to function, and the stairs leading to our classrooms were also affected.
In addition, water seeped into our prasadam hall and kitchen, causing damage to some sections of the floor tiles.
As we stand amidst the wreckage, we implore your compassion and support. Your generosity will be invaluable as we endeavor to restore Srila Gurudev's temple to it's former glory.
The repair estimates are as follows -
Roof 19,500
Room ceilings 5,000
Dinning and kitchen tile floor 12,000
Walls painting 3,000
Gutter 3,000
Tulsi house 9,500
With gratitude and prayers,
SGGM Sevaks
