***Church Restoration Update***

Dear friends, family, and community members!

We’re overjoyed to share the beautiful progress happening with our church restoration in Port Graham! It fills our hearts with gratitude to see our sacred church being renewed through the love, prayers, and hard work of many caring hands.

Every donation, every hour volunteered, and every kind word of encouragement has meant more than we can express. This truly is a community effort — a reflection of faith, unity, and hope.

Though we’ve come a long way, there are still important steps ahead before we can hold church services.

What Still Needs to Be Done:

• Siding installation

• Interior and exterior painting

• Repainting and reinstalling the cupolas

• Floor underlayment and flooring installation

• Insulation

• Sheetrock installation

• Electrical wiring

• Laying a vapor barrier underneath the church

Most of the major structural expenses have been covered — thanks to your incredible generosity and the blessings. Now, we’re focusing on the finishing touches.

Every bit of support continues to make a difference — whether it’s through a donation or helping hand. Your kindness is helping to rebuild more than just a building; you’re helping to restore faith and tradition for generations to come.

PLEASE Help Preserve Saint Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Port Graham Alaska

Saint Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church, located in the village of Port Graham, holds a deep spiritual and historical significance for our community. This sacred space is not just a building—it is a place of worship, remembrance, and tradition. It is where we gather to hold sacred memories of our loved ones who have passed and also many community sacraments including, marriages, baptisms and holy seasonal celebrations. It continues to be a light of spiritual guidance for the people of this village.

We are reaching out to you in a time of great need. During recent repairs to our altar, we discovered extensive black mold and rot—far more damage than we had anticipated. The structure is now in need of major repairs to make it safe and usable once again.

This church is the heart of our village. Generations have come together within these walls and we are committed to ensuring that future generations can do the same. We are humbly asking for your help—whether through financial support, skilled labor, or simply sharing our story.

Any assistance you can offer will go directly toward preserving this beautiful church so we can continue making memories and passing down traditions rooted in faith, love, and community.
