My name is Nelly, and I serve as Program Director of The Block Project, a community initiative focused on protecting homeowners and helping restore safe housing. I am organizing this fundraiser to support Sylvia during a difficult housing and legal situation.

Sylvia is a senior homeowner who opened her home to help someone during a difficult time, offering temporary shelter out of kindness and compassion. Unfortunately, the situation became unsafe and has led to ongoing legal action so she can restore peace and safety in her own home.

Sylvia is now taking the necessary legal steps to protect herself and regain stability. This process includes court filings, legal serving fees, transportation expenses, and other costs that quickly add up.

At the same time, her home has suffered significant damage and deterioration. Areas of the house, including the bathroom, kitchen, walls, and essential appliances, now require repairs so Sylvia can safely continue living in the home she has worked for her entire life.
