My name is Jordanne Elliott and my closest friends that I consider family, Ottor Mills and his mother, Aunty Donna were deeply affected by the category 5 Hurricane Melissa this week in Jamaica. They are entrepreneurs who earn their living through hospitality. They offered me a home, shared meals with me and accommodated me through one of my biggest life transitions.

The Rustic Beauty, is a beloved community venue and home in 7 Miles, Bull Bay, Jamaica. Nestled within the Palm Beach Estate Community, Rustic Beauty has long been a popular spot for everything from weddings and parties to simple, casual relaxation, with a charming on-site Airbnb offering stunning ocean and harbor views.

Tragically, the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa has left their home and scenic spot severely damaged. The most significant loss was their newly constructed sea barrier, finished just two weeks before the storm hit. Although the Airbnb building remains intact, the venue has suffered a major setback. Impacting their ability to earn and to recover.
